Invizius
Invizius is a Scotland based start-up founded by Dr Andy Herbert and Richard Boyd, which aims to reduce the damaging inflammatory effects of dialysis and cardiopulmonary bypass on patients through its patented H-Guard® Priming Solution.
By using the solution on extra-corporeal equipment such as a dialysis filter, Invizius believes that this could allow patients’ blood to enter the dialysis machine undetected and therefore minimise the inflammatory response.
The company has received investment from Mercia, Solvay, Downing, Old College Capital and the Scottish Investment Bank, and is leading its Series A funding round in 2020.
