NHS Transformation Symposium: Building strategic engagement with a changing NHS

We invite strategic UK market access and commercialisation teams to join us and our guest speakers for our NHS Transformation Symposium on Tuesday 26th September 2023 at Hallam Conference Centre, London.

At the symposium we will explore how the integration agenda is transforming the NHS and what this means for your market access, commercialisation and engagement strategies. Our guest speakers, who hold strategic leadership roles in Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and systems (ICSs), will share their thoughts on:

  • What integration looks like and how it is working in practice
  • Driving strategic change in the NHS – from ICBs through to patients
  • The role of finance and value in market access at ICB level

Together we will explore what this evolving NHS landscape means for innovators across the life sciences sector. Delegates will be invited to put their questions to our experts and participate in breakout groups to explore how industry can engage, build relationships, and work with NHS stakeholders to bring technologies to patients in this evolving environment.

The symposium will open with an introduction from Jennie Smith (Director – NHS Insight & Interaction, Mtech Access). We will then welcome our keynote speaker Dr Penny Dash (Chair of North West London Integrated Care System) who will share her first-hand perspective on progress with the integration agenda, what it looks like and how it’s working in practice. Penny’s keynote address will be followed by an interview, where we will take questions from the audience.

For our second session, we have invited an ICB board member with a background in transformation, strategy and economics to discuss how the NHS is driving change and how industry can best support this. Again, following our speaker’s presentation, attendees will be able to put their own questions to them.

Ahead of our networking lunch we will have a panel session where our afternoon guest speakers will introduce themselves and explore some key themes from the morning’s sessions.

Over lunch, we invite our attendees to network with other delegates and our NHS speakers, and to discuss their engagement strategies with the Mtech Access team.

After lunch, attendees will participate in one of three breakout sessions, exploring what transformation looks like in different areas of the NHS in England:

  1. Challenges for oncology and other complex conditions
  2. Collaborating with the NHS – How to become the irresistible ingredient
  3. Advances and trends in digital care at home

Each breakout session will be facilitated by a member of the Mtech Access team and will feature expert input from a guest speaker with real-world system experience.

After the breakout sessions, we will reconvene for our final keynote session. Here Phil Richardson (Chair & Chief Innovation Officer, Mtech Access) will interview Paul Miller,  Non-Executive Director in Salisbury NHS FT, and in the newly created Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).  The session will explore the viability of financial systems, the factors required for qualitative and financial sustainability, and the role industry can play in achieving these goals.

We invite those working in market access and commercialisation in Pharma and Medtech to join us for this thought-provoking look at the transforming NHS landscape and what this means for strategy and engagement.
