HRA PHARMA TAKES OVER DISTRIBUTION IN AUSTRIA

• Compeed® and ellaOne®, number one for blister care and emergency contraception, will now be distributed in Austria by brand owners HRA Pharma.
• HRA Pharma Deutschland GmbH has taken over its full portfolio from previous distributor Sanova Pharma GesmbH by January 2020.
• A dedicated team has been assembled to support pharmacy partners.

Consumer healthcare company HRA Pharma has decided to distribute their leading brands through its own organisation within the Austrian pharmaceutical market by January 2020.

HRA Pharma are the owners of Compeed®, ellaOne® and Vikela®, number one market leading brands for blister care and emergency contraception in Europe. Previously Compeed® as well as women's health brands ellaOne® and Vikela®, were sold in Austria through Sanova Pharma GesmbH.

As of now, HRA Pharma Deutschland GmbH is responsible for distribution in Austria and will support their pharmacy partners with a dedicated team at their service for medical inquiries and commercial support.

Thomas Schachler, Head of Sales, says, “Compeed® is the leading product in the blister plaster market and accounts for a market share of 95 per cent₁. The share of HRA’s women's health brands within the Austrian market amounts to 85.8 per cent₂. The decision to distribute HRA Pharma’s products through our own organisation is closely linked to fact that we are delighted with these results. At the same time, we would like to ensure a closer relationship with the market, our commercial partners, clients and consumers.”
