Creative Diagnostics Announces Alkyne Particles for Biology Applications
With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics now launches a series of alkyne particles that are suitable to covalently capture azide-tagged biomolecules via a Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne click chemistry reaction (CuAAC). The proteins of interest need to be metabolically, enzymatically or chemically azide-tagged. Subsequently, alkyne particles containing the covalently attached proteins can be washed with high stringency, virtually eliminating any non-specifically bound proteins.
Creative Diagnostics provides a number of particles used for Click Chemistry. These particles include silica particles, polymeric nanoparticles and magnetic particles with DBCO, Alkyne or Azide groups. Click chemistry is paving the way for novel innovations in biomedical science, and nanoparticle research is a representative example where click chemistry shows its promising potential. Click chemistry in vivo enables efficient and effective molecular imaging and drug delivery for diagnosis and therapy. Click chemistry ex vivo can be used to develop molecular tools to understand tissue development, diagnosis of diseases, and therapeutic monitoring. Overall, the results from research to date suggest that click chemistry has emerged as a valuable tool in biomedical fields as well as in organic chemistry.
Creative Diagnostics offers various alkyne particles for research use including pthe DiagNano™ PEG-Alkyne Silica Nanoparticles, 30 nm, DiagNano™ PEG-Alkyne Silica Particles, 500 nm, and DiagPoly™ Alkyne Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) PMMA Particles, 2 µ. More related alkyne particles products are also available at Creative Diagnostics. For example, the Absolute Mag™ Alkyne Magnetic Dextran Nanoparticles, 20 nm, which are prepared by precipitation of iron oxide in the presence of dextran. These nanoparticles are designed with alkyne groups on the surface, and are cluster-typed shaped and can be separated in a high gradient magnetic field. Polydispersity index is < 0.25. The mean hydrodynamic particle diameter may vary in the range of 20-110 nm (Z-Average, photon correlation spectroscopy).
"To support the development of nanoparticles related research, Creative Diagnostics scientists continue to develop new biological tools such as the new alkyne particles for scientists that meet today's research challenges they're facing. These new biological offerings give our customers more choices for their programs, and we're excited to collaborate with the research community to explore innovations in their research." said Dr. Jessica Waldorf, chief scientific officer of R&D department, at Creative Diagnostics.
"Creative Diagnostics is proud to provide these new particles products to our clients as it allows us to expand our support to the global research community and help our customers to get better results in biological projects. We look forward to providing more nanoparticles tools with our biological materials and services for our customers and partners." said Alex, one of a senior scientific officers at Creative Diagnostics.
