EDISON GROUP DEMOCRATISES ACCESS TO BOOMING HEALTHCARE INVESTMENT
WITH STARS OF SCIENCE, BUSINESS AND BROADCASTING
Capital flows into healthcare investment are burgeoning, despite byzantine terminology
making it impenetrable to most.
Edison Open House event will demystify the technologies, trends and investment cases, democratizing access for other professionals and retail investors.
Experts and stars of science, broadcasting, investment banking, capital markets and healthcare will help unlock understanding and answer investor questions over three days.
London, 20 January – What do investment banks Oppenheimer & Co, Stifel and Silicon Valley Bank have in common with BBC broadcaster Vivienne Parry, the manufacturers of the world’s most advanced artificial heart, London Stock Exchange Group and leading law firm Taylor Wessing?
All will be helping leading international equity research and investor relations consultancy Edison Group open up access to the booming universe of healthcare stocks to the widest possible audience next Tuesday, January 26 to Thursday, January 28.
The event will explore the case for investing in the sector’s microcap stocks - as well as the global megatrends behind the boom in healthcare investment which, in the third quarter of last year alone, saw a record £1 billion raised in the UK.
Over the three days, in association with London Stock Exchange Group and Taylor Wessing, Edison Open House: Global Healthcare 2021 will demystify the sector for tens of thousands of investors.
Kicking off with a keynote speech from research experts GlobalData, extraordinary new insight will be revealed into the impact of 2020 and how it will shape 2021 and beyond.
Expert lawyers, investors and bankers will go on to explain how unprecedented changes to regulatory environments will continue to make waves through the industry for decades. Panel events will delve even deeper into the trends driving the themes of the science, investment and performance of the burgeoning sector.
Meanwhile, interviews, fireside chats and investor Q&A sessions led by Vivienne Parry will dig into the science and strategy behind 35 carefully-curated companies - all designed to get to the nub of the investment opportunities expected to redefine the healthcare landscape in 2021.
The stocks range from the high profile, such as Oxford BioMedica, to those yet to gain mainstream attention - including the producer of the world’s most advanced total artificial heart, Carmat, Telix and Pixium Vision, a business developing bionic vision.
The objective is to ensure all investors have an accurate yet non-technical understanding of the rapidly changing macro picture of healthcare investment - and give them tools to help them independently select which stocks are most likely to benefit.
The event will be delivered through Issuer Services Spark, London Stock Exchange Group’s digital content streaming platform.
Rachel Carroll, US Managing Partner and President at Edison Group said: “We are living through extraordinary times, not least in healthcare investing. Given the trifecta of innovative science, an evolving regulatory landscape and fast-paced capital markets environment – 2021 promises to be another huge year. But many investors are left behind.
“It is our mission at Edison to open access to all. At our first Open House event we seek to demystify healthcare investing, broaden access to scientific innovations and allow all investors to participate in market gains. We cannot wait to open our house to yours.”
