Veramed Certifies as a B Corporation® joining a community of leaders using business as a force for good
[3rd March 2021]: Veramed, a Contract Research Organisation (CRO), providing specialist statistics and programming services to the biopharmaceutical industry, announced its achievement of certification as a B Corporation®, joining a growing group of companies reinventing business as a force for good™.
The connections between business, community, employees, and the environment are more important than ever as the pharmaceutical and life science industry continues to advance medicines development while responding to the immediate COVID-19 crisis.
The B Corp certification addresses all parts of a business’ operations, covering five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, the company has legally embedded their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.
Veramed is now part of a community of over 3,700 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps™. The B Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, comprises over 450 companies and include well-known brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, and The Body Shop.
