medac Pharma appoints Tony Johnson as Managing Director

medac Pharma is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Johnson as Managing Director. The new Managing Director began his new position in the company, which specialises in the therapy areas of oncology, urology, haematology and autoimmune on the 4^th of May. Tony will be responsible for all aspects of medac Pharma’s commercial, regulatory, finance and marketing departments in the UK.

Tony graduated with a degree in Pharmacology from Manchester University and began his career in the pharmaceutical industry working for Parke Davis in Pharmacology. From there he went on to become a Medical Rep and then Product Manager with the company.

In 1995 Tony diversified into product management and marketing roles with Faulding Pharmaceuticals, including Group Product Manager and Sales and Marketing Director.

Since joining medac as Marketing Director in 2002, Tony has been a member of the management team and his years of experience both with medac Pharma and previous companies here have led him to be the natural successor for the role of Managing Director. “I am proud to be given the opportunity to take over the business at such an exciting time" Tony says on his first day in the new role.

Tony‘s announcement comes as former MD Alastair McMurray announces his retirement after 24 years in charge of medac Pharma.
