Manchester, 12 May 2021 – On International Nurses Day, Chiesi Limited has launched ‘Together in Respiratory’ (www.togetherinrespiratory.co.uk), a new education platform that brings together nurses on an online community. Available to view exclusively on the platform is also ‘The Modern Face of Nursing’ exhibition, a series of FaceTime portraits taken by award winning photographer Tim Dunk, to pay homage to the nurses getting us through these unprecedented times.
The ‘Together In Respiratory’ website includes different resources developed for nurses by nurses such as:
· news and reflections from the nursing community
· education and skills development
· wellbeing and mental health resources
· a podcast featuring interviews and discussions with nurses.
The content will be regularly refreshed to help nursing professionals keep up to date with the latest developments.
Jane Scullion, Respiratory Nurse Consultant, University Hospital Leicester and ‘Together In Respiratory’ Editorial Board Member said: “We’re in a time where non-essential face-to-face interaction has been reduced, and so having an online platform where nurses can further their knowledge, interact with peers and hone their skills is crucial. The platform encourages an environment of understanding and empathy towards, and amongst, the nursing community. This is a welcomed addition to nursing education and has the potential to support and encourage nursing professionals across the UK.”
The ‘Together In Respiratory’ platform was born from an ongoing initiative driven by Chiesi Global to ensure empathy is a core component of organisational success. The initiative began in December 2019 and challenged a group of Chiesi employees from three countries to come up with innovative projects that can drive the company forward in the future.
Tom Delahoyde, Managing Director of Chiesi in the UK and Ireland said: “The creation of Together in Respiratory is part of Chiesi’s ongoing commitment to support the invaluable work done by nurses across the UK. The past year has been challenging, and we are especially empathetic towards nurses in respiratory care who were on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. With more than 669,000 nurses throughout the UK, we need to support and foster their continued growth and wellbeing, now more than ever. Through ‘Together In Respiratory’, we hope to facilitate a space where nurses can learn, interact, feel supported and be heard.”
The ‘Together in Respiratory’ platform is available to qualified nurses and other healthcare professionals. To find out more visit: www.togetherinrespiratory.co.uk.
