Alfa Chemistry—A New Supplier of Amphoteric Surfactants

Earlier this month Alfa Chemistry announces that the company starts to supply amphoteric surfactants, a type of chemicals widely used as co-surfactants in an incredibly wide range of applications.

“In recent years, amphoteric surfactants have undergone rapid development. They are mainly used in the manufacturing of personal care products and detergents such as shampoos and soaps,” says one of the senior scientists from Alfa Chemistry. “Attributes like good detergency, good performance in foaming and mildness to the skin have made amphoteric surfactants well-received in the detergent industry.”

The major amphoteric surfactants are alkylamidopropylamine N-oxide (APAO), alkyldimethylamine N-oxide (AO), alkylbetaine (Bt) and alkylamidopropylbetaine (APB). Cocamidopropyl betaine, cocoamphoacetate and cocoamphodiacetate are also some commonly-used amphoteric surfactants.

Alfa Chemistry offers hundreds of amphoteric surfactants and below are just some of them:

disodium pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate, 1,4-piperazinediethanesulfonic acid, monosodium salt, 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid, urocanic acid, taurine, betaine, sarcosine, N,N-dimethyl-L-aspartic acid, 5-ethyl-L-glutamate, magnesium DL-aspartate, bis(tripeptide-1) copper acetate, alanyl glutamic acid, stearyl sultaine, calcium cyclamate, uniblue A sodium salt, flavin-adenine dinucleotide, DL-phenylalanine, lauryl sultaine, thiamine diphosphate, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 acetate, potassium nicotinate, etc.

Advantages of amphoteric surfactants

  • Low toxicity and low irritation on the skin and eyes during the usage process
  • Excellent biodegradability
  • Resistance to hard water
  • Emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, foaming, antistatic property
  • High compatibility with all other types of surfactants

Due to their merits, amphoteric surfactants enjoy increasing applications in daily chemical industry, textile industry, food, pharmaceuticals, dyes and pigments, serving as textile finishing auxiliaries, dyeing auxiliaries, dispersants and dry cleaning agents.

About Alfa Chemistry

As a reliable partner for universities, research institutes as well as manufacturing companies, Alfa Chemistry keeps close eye on the current novel materials that have huge potential. Surfactants are among such materials, which are added to a liquid to reduce its surface tension, thereby increasing its spreading and wetting properties. Through research and innovation, Alfa Chemistry is fully devoted to providing the most affordable, high-quality and reproducible surfactants for researchers and companies interested in studying surfactants or for manufacturers of personal care products and detergents.
