Alberta Bio-Economy Employers Get Easy Access to Talent via New Niche Provincial Job Board
EDMONTON, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, BioTalent Canada and BioAlberta announced a joint launch of The PetriDish™ BioAlberta job board – giving Alberta bio-economy employers a tried and tested platform to attract highly-skilled talent.
According to BioTalent Canada’s 2018 labour market report Mapping Potential, Alberta’s bio-economy is booming with in excess of 230 biotech companies, 21 post-secondary institutions, and more than $650M in annual generated revenue.
As an organization that supports the people behind life-changing science, BioTalent Canada bridges the gap between job-ready talent and employers. For Alberta’s biotech sector to grow its $650M annual revenue, it needs an infusion of talent.
“Easing the process of connecting bio-economy employers to Canada’s best and brightest has been BioTalent Canada’s modus-operandi since day one,” says Rob Henderson, President and CEO, BioTalent Canada. “The fastest way to connect two points is a straight line and The PetriDish™ BioAlberta will serve as that straight line between job providers and job seekers.”
Modelled after BioTalent Canada’s national bilingual biotechnology job board, The PetriDish™ BioAlberta will provide employers with the same benefits of narrowing their search for candidates by providing more relevant bio-economy applicants. And for talent, a job board dedicated to health and bioscience roles helps cut through the noise of more generalized job boards.
“We've seen the success organizations have had in finding talent specific to the needs of the bio-economy via the national PetriDish™ and wanted to replicate that at the regional level,” explains Robb Stoddard, President and CEO of BioAlberta. “BioAlberta looks for ways to grow the suite of services we offer our stakeholders and believe a dedicated job board will attract the best and brightest talent to Alberta’s biotech sector.”
