eClinical Solutions Drives Strong Annual Growth Marked by New Products, Employee Hirings, and Expansion in West Coast and European Life Science Markets
Adds 15 new pharma and CRO clients in 2021, driven by industry adoption of the elluminate Clinical Data Cloud, the foundation for digital trials, and eClinical data services
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--eClinical Solutions, a global provider of digital clinical software and services, announces successful 2021 and highlights key achievements from the year including the addition of 15 new software and services clients and a 50% year over year (YoY) increase in elluminate revenue. The new clients span the life sciences industry from clinical research organizations (CROs) like Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) to leading pharmaceutical companies, with eClinical now partnering with eight of the top 30 biopharma companies in the world.
As clinical trial designs become more decentralized and complex, the volume and diversity of clinical trial data is growing exponentially. According to Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development, as of 2021, phase III clinical trials generated an average of 3.6 million data points, which is a 300% increase from a decade ago. This proliferation of data is increasing the demand from life sciences companies for modern platforms and services that centralize clinical and operational data streams, reduce manual work for clinical teams, and improve development efficiency.
To help address this growing demand, eClinical Solutions released new products and enhanced its platform and service capabilities in 2021, including:
- Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) – The addition of this offering within the elluminate Clinical Data Cloud enables sponsors to have a more holistic, risk-based monitoring approach through the transformation of numerous data streams into actionable analytics and statistically significant insights. Adding RBQM to the elluminate Clinical Data Cloud speeds time to insight and increases the value of centralizing clinical and operational data.
- CTMS Insights – CTMS Insights enables faster and more informed decision-making by automating operational data pipelines and reducing the time spent creating manual data “trackers.” With expanded interoperability and analytics capabilities, operational teams using CTMS Insights can own and benefit from their data across sources.
- Clinical Data Services - Growth accelerated across digital data services from acquisition through submission, including increased demand for integrated summary of safety (ISS) and integrated summary of effectiveness (ISE) statistical services.
To support the company’s continued innovation and market expansion, eClinical Solutions hired 50 employees throughout the United States and Europe in 2021. West Coast operations grew significantly as the life sciences market in California continues to expand, second only to the Greater Boston area. eClinical Solutions’ European presence now includes France, UK and Germany and spans a variety of business functions including business development, professional services and marketing.
“Technology investments in the life sciences space continue to grow as companies look to modernize all aspects of their clinical data lifecycle. The products and services we’ve released in 2021 are helping life sciences companies adopt a more modern data infrastructure to break down data silos, automate manual processes and accelerate the speed of drug development,” said Raj Indupuri, CEO and co-founder of eClinical Solutions. “This year as we embark on eClinical’s 10-year anniversary, we look to build on our 2021 momentum and have our most successful year yet. We will continue to grow our workforce, expand our footprint in major life sciences markets and innovate our offerings.”
