Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions and the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training partner for biopharma training programme
Falmouth, UK, 3rd May 2022 / Sciad Newswire / Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) today announces it has partnered with the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) to develop and deliver a combined in-person and online global biopharma training programme for employees.
NIBRT is a world-class independent institute providing training and research solutions for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Its facilities, based in Dublin, Ireland, are equipped with Watson-Marlow's range of peristaltic process pumps and single use technologies, and provide a unique learning environment which simulates conditions in a real-life bioprocessing plant.
Participants in the programme will spend three days on-site at NIBRT, covering a range of topics from upstream to fill-finish processes through both lectures and practical workshops. They will travel on to WMFTS’ global training hub in Cork, Ireland, for training at the newly expanded site which features an ISO 14644-1 Class 7 cleanroom.
The curriculum is further supported by a series of online learning modules delivered through the NIBRT Online Academy (NOA), providing access to industry-specific, interactive training including topics such as downstream processing, fill finish processing and ATMPs.
The first WMFTS cohort completed the training in mid-March, with plans to roll it out to sales managers, sales engineers, application engineers and product managers working with the Life Sciences sector in its global employee community.
Denis Coll, Life Sciences Sector Training Manager at WMFTS comments: “We’re delighted to build on our strong relationship with NIBRT by co-creating and delivering this bespoke training programme. As an internationally recognised training institute, NIBRT has unrivalled bioprocessing facilities where we can give our employees an invaluable, hands-on training experience. Our people are our greatest asset, and this training programme demonstrates our commitment to investing in them and further deepening our biopharma knowledge and expertise across the business.”
John Milne, Director of Training at NIBRT adds: “We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Watson-Marlow teams who will come to our world-class biopharma manufacturing training facility in Dublin for their bespoke training programme. Watson-Marlow is a long-standing industry partner of NIBRT and has demonstrated an impressive commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality training for its employees. The approach of combining an online training program ahead of more hands-on training in NIBRT, provides an immersive and comprehensive program for all involved. As a global leader in biopharma training, we look forward to building on the real-life biopharma work skills of Watson-Marlow employees and providing a high benchmark for this type of industry training.’’
The move comes as WMFTS is unveiled as a finalist in the International category for Cork Company of the Year, having demonstrated its significant role in Ireland’s growing biopharma community.
