Independent pharmacy owner Olivier Picard provides Wegovy to the first patient in the UK with the support of Pharmadoctor

Only two days since the UK launch of the much-anticipated weight loss drug Wegovy, Pharmadoctor partner pharmacist and owner of Newdays Pharmacy Group Olivier Picard provides Wegovy to the first UK patient via the Pharmadoctor Weight Management pharmacy service.
Olivier’s first patient ‘Patient X’ who is a 46-year-old married mum told him that she had put on more than 5 stone in weight since turning 40. She said that her weight gain over the years had affected her confidence and motivation to socialise as much as before, but despite trying many different diets she had been unable to lose the weight.
Once Patient X's eligibility for treatment had been checked and her monthly weight loss goals agreed using the Pharmadoctor Weight Management eTool, Olivier handed over her first pen of Wegovy under his Pharmadoctor PGD. Patient X’s face lit up and she genuinely thanked Olivier for giving her a new focus and the support she needs to shift the excess weight.
Commenting on his first Weight Management consultation using Wegovy, Olivier said “It was an amazing feeling being able to help the first patient in the UK on their journey to conquer obesity using Wegovy. I look forward to continuing to support their progress each month and witness the positive impact on their life”.
