TMC welcomes Joe Lopez as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to enhance corporate C-level team

TMC Pharma Services Ltd., an established global product development and clinical research organisation (CRO) headquartered in Hampshire, UK, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Lopez as its new CFO, effective 28 May 2024.

Joe joins from Sondrel, where he was CFO for nearly five years. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role to support TMC’s continued global expansion — with a successful track record of delivering sustainable value in private and equity-backed SMEs in an international environment.

Following an £18 million minority investment by LDC, the private equity investor that is part of Lloyds Banking Group, in August 2022, TMC has been on a mission to expand its established US and EU client base, increase activities in AsiaPac and beyond and strengthen its international team (including some strategically valuable alliances and acquisitions).  Joe’s appointment continues to strengthen the company’s leadership team.

This appointment is part of the company’s long-term growth plans. Julie Matthews — who co-founded TMC with her physician husband, Dr Mike Matthews, in 2000 — stepped down from her role as CEO earlier this month. She was succeeded by Simon Estcourt, who joined TMC as CEO on 7 May 2024.

Joe’s appointment will be key in supporting the growth of TMC alongside Simon and enhancing its corporate C-level team, which includes Carol Woodward (COO) and Stewart Sharpe (CCO).
