NASH kNOWledge redesigns website; introduces new URL as 6-year anniversary approaches

Liver transplant and cancer survivor nonprofit organization announces updated website and URL on heels of 6-year anniversary.

PITTSBURGH, August 27, 2024 (Newswire.com) - NASH kNOWledge today announces a refreshed website and new URL to make it easier for fatty liver disease patients, caregivers and medical professionals to access the wide array of resources available for free, including a Fatty Liver Risk Assessment quiz. Liver transplant and cancer survivor Tony Villiotti founded NASH kNOWledge nearly six months post liver transplant and this redesign aligns with the organization's 6-year anniversary, approaching on September 1.

“When I was reflecting on my fatty liver, NASH, cirrhosis and liver cancer journey while recovering from my transplant, I realized that there was a gap in consistent and relevant information for patients like myself,” said Villiotti, NASH kNOWledge founder and Board Chairman. “This path really could have been avoided, and I believe I owe it to my donor and his family to help others. My life was saved for a reason. Since I started our nonprofit six years ago, we have developed a complete library of resources, and our website serves as a one-stop-shop for anything a patient, caregiver and those at risk could possibly need to know about fatty liver disease.”

The newly designed website, developed by DX Performance, now includes a Fatty Liver Risk Assessment quiz to easily determine if you are at risk and need to seek medical evaluation. The website is intended to be a resource and information hub for anyone seeking information about liver disease, specifically fatty liver disease, NASH/MASH, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The redesign makes it easier to navigate the numerous resources Villiotti has developed along with input from leaders in the liver disease field.

“During the website update we also changed our URL to LiverAdvocates.org,” stated NASH kNOWledge Executive Director, Gina Madison. “We are out in the community, active on social media and just motivated to educate and make people aware of the risk factors for fatty liver disease, how to avoid it, and how to advocate for themselves within the medical system. We wanted our website URL and overall look and feel to better align with what we do day in and day out. Our social media reach is large, and we are also talking with tens of thousands of people face-to-face or virtually a year. We advocate from our hearts for people to take their liver health more seriously and our website is a repository where they can find all the information they need right at their fingertips.”

DX Performance is a Pittsburgh-based digital marketing firm and the perfect partner in the website redesign, given the founder's understanding and interest in the organization, and also deep knowledge in both the technology and user experience aspects of web design.

"At DX Performance, we were thrilled to develop a new website for NASH kNOWledge, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about fatty liver disease," said Dan Simkins, CEO and Founder of DX Performance. "We believe it's crucial to support organizations like theirs, as their mission to educate the public on such important health issues aligns with our own values of community involvement and social responsibility. We are confident that this new platform will empower them to make an even greater impact, helping more people understand and prevent this condition."

NASH kNOWledge's free resources include various infographics, a 27-minute documentary and animated videos among other resources. The organization also runs a free Zoom-based Liver Disease Support Group.
