Primary Trauma Care Foundation launches new ‘Life + Limb’ brand to engage broader audience
The Primary Trauma Care Foundation (PTCF) is excited to announce the launch of a new, consumer-focused sub-brand and website, designed to engage a wider audience while maintaining its trusted presence within the medical and charitable sectors. The new ‘Life + Limb’ brand brings a fresh, human-centred approach to communicating PTCF’s mission: training front-line health workers in low-resource areas of the world [Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs)] how to deliver emergency medical care with the equipment available to them.
A trusted Foundation with a new vision
For over two decades, PTCF has empowered local doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals in LMICs to provide injury/trauma care where medical resources are scarce. Its well-established reputation within the medical and humanitarian communities has enabled PTCF to make significant strides in injury/trauma care education, offering training that saves lives and strengthens communities.
Now, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its reach and impact, PTCF has reimagined its brand to appeal to a broader audience. While the charity’s name will remain the Primary Trauma Care Foundation, and will still deliver Primary Trauma Care (PTC) training, the ‘Life + Limb’ brand will focus on making PTCF’s life-changing work more relatable and engaging for consumers, individual supporters, and corporate partners who may not have a deep medical background.
Bringing life-saving stories to life
At the heart of the Life + Limb brand is a shift towards storytelling - sharing real-world examples of how PTCF’s work transforms lives in some of the world’s most underserved regions. Rather than focusing solely on medical terminology or technical achievements, the new website and sub-brand emphasise the human stories behind the work: families and communities whose lives have been saved thanks to PTCF’s trauma/injury care training.
“We wanted to make sure that our mission is not only understood by medical professionals but also by anyone who wants to help make a real impact,” said Nigel Rossiter, Chair of Trustees for PTCF. “Our work is about saving lives, empowering healthcare providers, and strengthening communities. We believe that by sharing the personal stories behind our work, we can engage a much broader audience and inspire more people to join us in this life-saving mission.”
Partnering with Gough Marketing for a people-first approach
In partnership with Gough Marketing, the newly created sub-brand and website have been designed with simplicity and emotional resonance in mind. The website now features powerful visuals and engaging content that bring PTCF’s work to life, making it easier for visitors to understand the direct impact of their support. Whether through case studies of medical professionals trained by PTCF, or stories of individuals who survived trauma thanks to local healthcare workers, the site fosters a deep emotional connection between visitors and the cause.
“Gough Marketing has been instrumental in helping us create a brand that resonates not just with medical professionals but with anyone who believes in the importance of global trauma/injury care,” Nigel added. “Their expertise in human-centred marketing has helped us take our message to a whole new level.”
The road ahead: Expanding support and engagement
With the new Life + Limb brand, PTCF is aiming to engage a diverse range of supporters, from those in the medical community to everyday individuals, businesses, and charitable organisations who want to make a difference. By highlighting the real-life impact of trauma/injury care in LMICs, PTCF hopes to inspire new waves of support, both financial and in-kind, to continue its life-saving work.
This rebranding initiative is also a stepping stone for PTCF to build stronger relationships with corporate partners and charitable organisations interested in supporting global trauma/injury care. As the new sub-brand rolls out, PTCF will be working closely with medical professionals, government bodies, global organisations and NGOs to ensure that its trauma care training continues to reach the areas that need it most.
