Isomerase Achieves EcoVadis Gold Medal, Reflecting Leadership in Sustainability and Ethics

At Isomerase, scientific innovation goes hand-in-hand with our commitment to ethical, responsible, and sustainable business practices. In 2024, we were proud to receive the EcoVadis silver sustainability award, recognising our solid foundations in environmental stewardship, ethical conduct, and labour practices.

But for us, this was just the beginning. Over the past year, we have taken significant, targeted steps to strengthen our sustainability strategy, acting on the recommendations provided in our previous assessment. These efforts have culminated in a major milestone: EcoVadis Gold Medal 2025. This sustainability award places Isomerase among the top 5% of over 150,000 companies evaluated globally, affirming our excellence in environmental impact, labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Isomerase scored an impressive 76/100 overall, placing us in the 95th percentile of all companies assessed. This score reflects our dedication to sustainable practices across various domains.

Environmental Impact - We achieved a score of 78/100 in environmental impact, demonstrating our commitment to reducing our ecological footprint. Our comprehensive policies address energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, materials, chemicals, and waste management. Notable measures include the purchase of renewable energy, reduction of energy consumption in IT infrastructure and lighting systems, the use of eco-friendly or bio-based input materials and reduction of material consumption through process optimisation.

Labour & Human Rights - Our labour and human rights practices scored 78/100, reflecting our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive workplace. We have implemented policies on employee health and safety, career management and training. Key measures include skills development training, actions to promote internal mobility, formal discussions with employees on their career development, and family-friendly programmes.

Ethics - Isomerase scored 79/100 in ethics, showcasing our dedication to maintaining high ethical standards. Our policies cover corruption, fraud, information security, conflict of interest, and money laundering. We have implemented measures such as awareness training to prevent corruption and information security breaches, and whistleblower procedures for stakeholders to report concerns.

Achieving the EcoVadis Gold Medal is more than a recognition – it’s a reflection of our strong commitment to operating sustainably, responsibly, and ethically. For our partners, this means greater confidence in our practices and values.

However, we will not stop here. Even though we are in the top 5%, we will continue to explore ways to incorporate a more sustainable outlook into everything we do. EcoVadis has provided us with a list of future recommendations to work towards. Our next goal will be to reach EcoVadis Platinum, a title held only by the 1% most environmentally conscious institutions.
