Chiesi Group receives Top Employer Award in UK and Europe for eighth consecutive year
Manchester, UK, 30th January 2020 – Chiesi, an international research-focussed pharmaceutical group (Chiesi Group), has been awarded the exclusive Top Employers UK and the Top Employers Europe for the eighth consecutive year running following an extensive review process by the Top Employers Institute.
The Top Employers Institute recognises excellence in people and working practices, through analysing data and information relating to the Human Resource management policies of global companies. To achieve certification, a company is assessed based on a thorough process of internal research, to demonstrate it complies with the most stringent quality standards in a range of areas, including training and development, strategies aimed at nurturing talent and company culture.
Tom Delahoyde, Managing Director of Chiesi in the UK and Ireland, said, “At Chiesi, we are proud to have a culture which focuses on our people and it is great to see this continually recognised by the Top Employers Institute. Facilitating the personal and professional development of every single Chiesi colleague and enhancing the quality of their working environment is central to our UK priorities. Our success is built on the open exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience, as we work to achieve the best way to improve patients’ lives.”
Ten of the Group’s affiliates obtained the certification this year. The UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain have confirmed Chiesi as Top Employer Europe – a title assigned to companies that achieve certification in at least 5 EU countries – for the eighth consecutive year. Italy, where the company is headquartered, was awarded the title for the 12th year running. Non-EU countries whose certification has also been renewed are Brazil, the US and Russia.
“We are proud to have been once again awarded these important certifications, which are confirmation of our Group’s commitment to the wellbeing of our co-workers and their professional development.” explains Ugo Di Francesco, CEO at the Chiesi Group. “People are a central focus of life in the company, an integral part of the Group. It was their commitment and enthusiasm which contributed to achieving the B Corp certification last year”.
“For Chiesi, being a ‘Top Employer’ company means working daily to attract new talent and enhancing the value of our people, creating a positive and inclusive climate in the workplace, where diversity represents fundamental value for the success of the Group.” continues Giacomo Mazzariello, Global Human Resources & Organization Head of the Chiesi Group. “We constantly strive to offer opportunities for growth and improvement to all our people, beginning with training and development programmes. Lastly, we are committed to ensuring there is a work-life balance, providing flexible tools such as Smart Working, which has been made possible by the process of digitalisation launched some time ago by the company.”
Established more than 25 years ago, the Top Employers Institute has certified over 1,500 organisations in 118 countries/regions. These Certified Top Employers positively impact the lives of over 6 million employees globally.
